At Integrity Claims Management, we pride ourselves on going the extra mile for our customers. We’re also delighted to support our team members when they set themselves personal challenges.
Moved by the plight of people living in Myanmar in Burma after a coup d’etat in February 2021, Integrity team member Khin Soe signed up to join Freedom Stride, a 26-mile walk aiming to raise funds for organisations working in the region.
To date, the GoFundMe charitable effort total stands at more than £43,000, £13,000 higher than the original target. A delighted Khin said she appreciated everyone who donated.
A heartfelt decision
“I have to highlight my appreciation for Integrity Claims Management, who had my back and supported me,” she said.
“We at Integrity are honoured to have someone like you representing our company so admirably. Your outstanding efforts exemplify our core values of compassion and generosity,” added Russell Ryan, Managing Director.
The walk came about after Khin decided to go a step further than making her usual donation to Burmese charities on her birthday. Alongside her sister and more than 40 others, they set off at 6am in the pouring rain and, after walking over 26 miles, finished at 4pm.
“Everyone went at their own pace, and after around 18 miles, we decided to do a group picture at the Peace Pagoda in Battersea Park,” she said. “I didn’t know if I could carry on after stopping, but everyone was very determined to finish the walk.
“We all had the same goal and we did it for people who are in need. We just wanted to help wherever we can.”
Helping fund essential items
Speaking about shedding light on the situation in Myanmar, she said: “Most of the civilians cannot really oppose the government. In the main towns and cities, there are so many people who have left and are living in the forest.
“We’re trying to help those people with food, medicines or clothes, essential things like that.”
When asked if she had any more fundraisers planned, Khin said: “I haven’t got anything in mind yet but if there’s another challenge for a good cause, I would be happy to do it.”
It goes without saying that everyone at Integrity Claims Management will be proud to support her.
